Mid-Senior Software/Firmware Engineers – Dundee, UK

Salary: £40,000 – £70,000 p/a
Location: Dundee, UK (Hybrid)
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a Software/Firmware Engineer ready for a new challenge? A leading global tech company is looking for talented engineers to join their team in Dundee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software/firmware for real-time embedded devices
  • Create test procedures and document functionality validation
  • Perform unit testing, integration, and system testing
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Occasional travel to customer sites for support and analysis

Essential Skills:

  • Degree in Software/Computer/Electronics Engineering (Hons 2:1 or higher preferred)
  • Experience with embedded real-time firmware (C++ preferred)
  • Familiarity with 32-bit microprocessors (ARM preferred)
  • Knowledge of image processing and analysis techniques
  • Experience with VxWorks, FreeRTOS, or similar RTOS
  • Strong software development skills (C++, C#, Python, Java, etc.)
  • Software design expertise (Object-Oriented)
  • Experience with software configuration management

Bonus Skills (Not Essential):

  • Knowledge of real-time embedded systems and processor technologies
  • Interest in electro-mechanical device control
  • Familiarity with electronics
  • Experience in Windows programming environments
