Location: Cuerden Depot PR5 6BS (may be required to work at several sites in Lancashire).

Lancashire Highways Service is in charge of the direct delivery of all highway-related initiatives in the county, which includes 4300 miles of road, 171,000 lamps, and 2955 bridges.

Starting compensation varies according to skills and experience.

We have a wonderful opportunity for an electrician at our Cuerden depot. The successful candidates will be responsible for column and sign installation/removal, call outs, and other duties as assigned to the position. The advertised positions are permanent once a six-month probationary period is completed satisfactorily.

For the selected candidate, there may be future possibilities to complete LGV driving licence training supported by LCC, which might lead to career advancement and winter road maintenance in Lancashire.

The ideal candidate should have a valid driver’s license and extensive experience in street lighting construction and maintenance. Because this position involves working on the highway network, we need someone who is well-versed in health and safety legislation, as well as traffic control systems for street lighting construction and maintenance. The successful candidates will be needed to do repairs, lantern installation, column/sign erecting, jointing, cut-outs, after-hours call outs, and other responsibilities as assigned to the position.

As part of our commitment to continuous development, we conduct frequent reviews of how we deliver our services. As a result, employment functions may change, and the post holder may be required to work elsewhere in the service.

Please upload an up-to-date CV or supporting statement. It is critical that you have proved and evidenced that you meet the essential criteria of the person specification. If you do not fulfil the criteria but believe you have relevant qualities, please illustrate these in your supporting statement.

In return, Lancashire County Council provides a variety of incentives, which can be seen on the LCC Vacancies website.

We reserve the right to close a vacancy early, before the closing date, if we get enough applications.
