JOB SUMMARY

 

This is an amazing chance to work as a Project Manager (Careers) at the University of Reading’s award-winning Careers Centre, where you will oversee our Thrive mentorship programme and the Reading Experience and Development (RED) Awards.

Our Thrive mentoring programme connects students with industry professionals, encouraging support, collaboration, and guidance at a critical stage in their university experience, whereas the RED Awards are the University of Reading’s Official Skills Awards, available to all students to help them make the most of extracurricular activities and experiences available outside of their degree.

You will help to create a transformative student experience by establishing and managing programmes that encourage our students to participate in professional and personal development opportunities, allowing them to express their accomplishments and secure career success.

You will collaborate with the Careers Team and other internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll have:

  • Proven ability to communicate with important internal stakeholders and create connections with experts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities, including rapport and diplomacy.
  • Experience assessing metrics to improve future work.
  • Good grasp of national trends in careers initiatives, including aiding students with unique requirements, such as impairments or underrepresented groups.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, as well as the ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
