Job Description




  • Suffolk County Council – Recruiting across Suffolk.
  • Newly qualified Adult Social Workers earn £34,834 a year, with an additional £500 payment upon completion of AYSE (pro rata for part-time hours).
  • Adult social workers earn between £35,745 and £38,223 per year (prorated for part-time hours).
  • Retention payments for 2, 3, and 5 years of service are £1,000, £1,500, and £2,000, respectively.
  • Full-time and part-time hours are available.
  • Permanent


We are seeking Social Workers (including Newly Qualified Social Workers) for Adult Social Care positions across the county.

What you need:

  • A valid social work qualification.
  • A current Social Work England registration (or pending registration if newly qualified).
  • A valid driver’s licence (or working towards one) and access to personal transportation.


You will bring social work experience, as well as the ability to model best practices and provide advise and direction in challenging situations. You should have a thorough awareness of current laws, rules, and guidelines. We’re searching for someone with expertise chairing meetings with clients, family members, carers, and other multi-agency professionals, as well as the capacity to build good relationships with partner agencies and the local community in order to provide a supportive environment for vulnerable adults.
