As we continue to drive forward-thinking research and societal contribution, we are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Business Operations Officer to help support our Shared Research Facilities (SRF) within the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences.

About the Role

As Business Operations Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the strategic operations of the MVLS Shared Research Facilities. Working closely with the Business Manager, you will lead on the delivery of key projects, manage communications and stakeholder engagement, and help promote our cutting-edge research technologies and training initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to operational excellence in one of the UK’s leading research environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate a range of operational projects across different research platforms and departments
  • Develop and implement communication and marketing strategies to promote SRF services, training, and research impact
  • Act as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth collaboration and information flow
  • Provide expert operational advice and strategic proposals to enhance efficiency across the Shared Research Facilities
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the College’s long-term research infrastructure goals

What You’ll Need:

  • Demonstrated experience in operations or project management, ideally in a higher education or research setting
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage a variety of audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience with stakeholder management and collaborative working practices
