Aston Business School is one of the UK’s leading academic institutions, holding triple accreditation (EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA). We are proud to be one of only three UK institutions awarded the Small Business Charter Gold Award, recognising our excellence in business engagement.
The Department of Accounting and Finance comprises nearly 50 academic staff delivering highly regarded undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. In addition to our Birmingham-based teaching, we also operate in London and internationally.
As part of our strategic expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and inspirational academic to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to our teaching, research, supervision of PhD/DBA students, and broader citizenship activities within the department.
Our department has a strong research and teaching culture. We focus on areas such as accounting governance and regulation, management accounting, decision-making using accounting information, accountability, taxation, and accounting education. We host two specialist research units in public sector and not-for-profit governance and sustainability accounting, as well as a Research Centre in Personal Financial Wellbeing and a Research Group on fraud.
We are looking for candidates with strong applied or empirical research capabilities, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive, positive approach. Experience in generating research income and creating impactful external partnerships is highly valued. At Senior Lecturer level, we expect leadership contributions in advancing our research, external funding, and impact agendas.
