JOB SUMMARY
If you have the vision, drive and enthusiasm to help us deliver an exciting modern pharmacy service, are a clinical support pharmacist with at least 9 months of post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy, or the ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge, and are ready for the next step in your career, this could be the job for you.
This is a band 6 to 7 development post that comprises working as a Clinical Support Pharmacist at a single site in our rotational program. Once you have fulfilled the necessary competencies to establish your ability to work at the senior support level, you will be included to the Senior Support Pharmacist rotational pool. At this level, you will work in a 9-month speciality rotation at Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull hospitals, covering acute asthma, acute and general medicine, respiratory, infectious diseases, general surgery and nutrition, specialist surgery and critical care, renal, women’s, and children’s services.
Applicants with 12 months of post-registration hospital experience will be appointed to a progressional post under Agenda for Change Annex 21 (payment at 75% of the maximum band 7 pay), which will be increased to the starting pay of a band 7 as per Agenda for Change upon completion of the first year of clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway. All applicants will then move on to the independent prescribing course.
Full-time positions are available, as well as a 0.5wte job share.
Main responsibilities, tasks, and abilities required
You will provide a high-quality specialist clinical pharmacy service, with a strong emphasis on assisting you in taking your leadership and mentoring skills to the next level.
