JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be clinically involved and share responsibility for the management of a caseload of clients with complex needs, operating as a specialist in this sector.
You will be a specialist practitioner dealing with patients presenting and living with HIV and Hepatitis B, providing highly specialised care, treatment, advice, information, education, and counselling to patients, families, partners, and carers in accordance with UHB, British HIV Association [BHIVA], British Association of Sexual Health & HIV [BASHH], and other speciality guidelines.
You will contribute to and work with a big, devoted, supportive MDT comprised of Nurses, Doctors, Health Advisers, Pharmacists, therapies, social and peer support, and other agencies that provide holistic health for our cohort.
Prior to conducting practitioner-led patient reviews under expert guidance, you will complete a Health Assessment course and a local competency training. You will be encouraged to pursue non-medical prescriber training in the future.
This post may also be responsible for transitioning young persons living with HIV who are currently receiving care at the regional paediatric HIV program to the adult HIV service. A paediatric nursing qualification is not required.
We provide our patients with in-person and telephone assessments, as well as ongoing help in between appointments, for a variety of complicated concerns. We help students inside the department. In the future, this function could include outreach and community services.

The selected candidate will participate and work within a big, devoted, supportive MDT made up of Nurses, Doctors, Health Advisers, Pharmacists, therapies, social and peer support, and other agencies that provide holistic wellbeing for our cohort.
You will be required to finish a Health Assessment course as well as a local competency training in order to conduct practitioner-led reviews on patients under consultant supervision. You will be encouraged to pursue non-medical prescriber training in the future.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse with Valid NMC Registration
- Evidence of post-registration CPD / post-registration certification in relevant area of specialisation or professional expertise, enhanced by specialist experience and short courses to FHEQ Level 6
Experience
Essential
- Evidence and the capacity to revalidate as required by the NMC.
- Significant post-registration experience, with evidence of passion, enthusiasm, and understanding for the related field of speciality practice.
- Evidence of successes and career advancement in the current position, as well as ongoing professional development and competency.
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge supported by theory and CPD relevant to the speciality.
- Experience and enthusiasm for teaching/evaluating and supervising others in a clinical context.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary and cross-agency work setting.
- Demonstrate understanding, expertise, and desire to be a practice-based supervisor / assessor as specified in the NMC.
Desirable
- Experience with service development.
