Staff Testimonials

Much of social work practice focusses on empowering, supporting, and breaking down barriers within oppressive structures. In this approach, assessing people’s social care requirements, as well as their mental and physical health, is so important, holistic, and supportive. I greatly appreciated the challenge of working across agencies, such as with colleagues in health. This has reinforced and galvanised my identity as a social worker, putting me on the route to forensic mental health services.

(Amanda, Social Worker, South and Western Social Care Team)

Working with the South and West Social Care Team allows me to spend time with people and have meaningful talks about their lives, hopes, and dreams for the future. The collaborative development of their assistance plan reinforces social work values. When issues are raised and the proper procedures are followed, the team is helpful. Opportunities for professional development and reflection exist since each individual’s situation is unique. With such a broad geographical area, I am trusted to handle workflow and normally work autonomously, but I am aware that regular team catch-ups provide valuable peer support.

(Elaine, Social Worker, South and West Social Care Team)
