About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the planning, delivery, and development of our electrical infrastructure across the campus.

You’ll be at the forefront of delivering major infrastructure projects and continuous improvements to our High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems, ensuring our facilities meet current and future needs. This is a leadership role requiring both technical expertise and the ability to mentor and manage a talented team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and inspire a team of electrical engineers.
  • Allocate resources and set priorities to ensure efficient project delivery.

Project Management

  • Oversee large-scale projects from planning through to execution.
  • Ensure delivery on time, within budget and to high-quality standards.

Technical Delivery

  • Provide expert advice on HV/LV design, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and safety standards.
  • Lead on preventative maintenance and risk mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with academic, operational and external partners.
  • Present reports and updates to senior leaders across the university.

Continuous Improvement

  • Keep abreast of the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Drive innovation and long-term improvements in electrical systems.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards it
  • Proven experience with HV and LV infrastructure
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety, and industry regulations
  • Experience in a large, complex organisation (ideally within education, health, or public sector)
