Job Description

We are seeking dynamic, flexible, and adaptable individuals to join our nursing team, passionate about delivering exceptional care to children, young people, and families within the services of East Kent Hospital University Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied and engaging role, rotating between the paediatric outpatient department and the acute inpatient ward at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

You will be supported in your professional development by the practice development team, with daily guidance from the Ward Manager and Nurse in Charge. This role may also require occasional work across other EKHUFT sites to meet the needs of the service.

Your responsibilities will include duties across Acute Children’s areas, Day Case wards, and Children’s Outpatient departments. On the acute wards, you will assist the Registered Nurse in providing safe, compassionate care while also handling administrative and housekeeping tasks to ensure smooth ward operations. You will be expected to support less experienced staff and oversee the quality of their work. In the outpatient setting, you will manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring the area adheres to Trust policies, identifying and reporting issues, and escalating them as needed. You will be guided by the Nurse in Charge or Ward Manager.

Senior Paediatric Healthcare Support Worker – Role Specific Duties: In this role, you will assist across Acute Children’s areas, Day Case wards, and rotate through Children’s Outpatient areas. Additionally, you will support less experienced staff and ensure the quality of their work.
