About the Role

We are looking for two experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialists to join our spinal injury service. These roles are vital in providing specialist care and leadership across our Trust. As the nursing clinical lead for spinal cord injury, you will offer expert, patient-focused support and collaborate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, high-quality care.

You will act as an expert practitioner, delivering tailored treatment plans and helping drive service innovation and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical leadership in spinal injury care across the Trust.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines, policies, and best practices.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, service evaluations, and research initiatives.
  • Maintain high-quality patient records and ensure confidentiality and dignity.
  • Offer guidance and consultation to patients, carers, and staff from referring organisations.
  • Work across professional boundaries to ensure integrated patient pathways.
  • Support patients in making informed decisions and engage them in their treatment planning.
  • Liaise with national and local spinal injury experts to drive innovation and service improvement.
  • Stay up to date with national and regional developments in health and social care legislation.

  • Participate in performance reviews and support the delivery of the Trust’s Nursing Charter.
  • Lead by example and act as a visible and supportive figure for staff, patients, and carers.
  • Contribute to effective team working, service planning, and conflict resolution.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve patient flow and care delivery.
  • Ensure that referrals are prioritised based on clinical need and patient outcomes.
