Powering the UK’s Infrastructure
A rapidly expanding UK infrastructure contractor specialising in high-voltage transmission projects is seeking experienced Transmission Line Workers to join its operational teams nationwide.
These positions sit at the heart of the UK’s electrical network development. - Working Pattern
- Summer: 10-hour shifts
- Winter: 9-hour shifts
(All roles are full-time and site-based.)
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
You will be part of field teams delivering high-voltage transmission line construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects across the UK.
Key duties include:
- Strict compliance with UK health and safety legislation
- Rigging and tensioning operations
- Clipping-in (suspension) and blocking (dressing) on towers
- Installation and safe operation of spacer trolleys
- Earthing (add-leads) on overhead conductors
- Jumpering and jointing activities (including permanent joints, socks, stockings)
- In-situ steel replacement on towers
- Tower erection using cranes or derricks (e.g., Falcon systems)
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Safe operation of ladders, platforms, and access equipment
- Supporting safe team-based site operations
- This role involves regular working at height and requires strict procedural discipline.
Experience & Skills Required
Essential
- Minimum three years’ experience on high-voltage transmission line projects
- Experience working at height
- Practical knowledge of OHL tensioning and stringing
- Tower assembly and erection experience
- Strong safety awareness and team collaboration skills
Desirable
- Formal technical qualifications
- Experience with pullers, tensioners, tractor winches, and erection tools
- Valid UK driving licence (conversion support available if required)
- Skilled Worker Visa Information (International Applicants)
- These roles may qualify for sponsorship under the UK Skilled Worker route, subject to meeting Home Office criteria.
