Role overview

A rapidly expanding infrastructure contractor is seeking experienced Transmission Line Workers to support high-voltage overhead line projects across the UK. Recruitment is coordinated by Skills Provision Ltd. These are physically demanding, safety-critical roles suited to professionals who thrive working at height, outdoors, and as part of a disciplined site team.

Visa sponsorship may be available to eligible applicants who meet UK immigration and safety standards.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll contribute directly to the safe construction, maintenance, and upgrade of transmission infrastructure, including:

  • Working strictly to site health and safety procedures
  • Rigging and tower-based operations
  • Blocking, clipping-in, and spacering of conductors
  • Applying earthing systems to overhead lines
  • Using ladders, platforms, and access systems safely
  • Jointing and jumpering activities
  • In-situ steel component replacement on towers
  • Reading and interpreting technical diagrams
  • Supporting coordinated team-based site operations

Working pattern

  • Summer schedule: approx. 10 hours per day
  • Winter schedule: approx. 9 hours per day
  • Overtime opportunities depending on project needs

Essential experience

  • Minimum 3 years on high-voltage transmission line projects
  • Working confidently at height
  • Maintenance of overhead high-voltage systems
  • Tensioning/stringing operations
  • Tower assembly or erection using cranes/derricks
