About the Opportunity

Skills Provision is working in partnership with a rapidly expanding UK infrastructure organisation specialising in high-voltage transmission line projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Transmission Line Workers to support major national electricity infrastructure programmes across the UK.

  • Summer: 10 hours per day
  • Winter: 9 hours per day
  • Work schedules are planned in line with seasonal daylight and project requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Transmission Line Worker, you will play a vital role in the safe construction, maintenance, and upgrading of high-voltage overhead line (OHL) systems. Your duties will include:

  • Working in strict compliance with UK health, safety, and electrical regulations
  • Carrying out rigging, jumpering, and jointing activities
  • Installing, blocking, dressing, and clipping conductors on tension and suspension towers
  • Performing spacering operations using approved spacer trolleys
  • Applying earthing and add-lead systems to OHL conductors
  • Safely using access equipment such as platforms, ladders, and pladders
  • Undertaking in-situ steel replacement on transmission towers
  • Supporting tower erection and dismantling using cranes or derrick systems
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematic diagrams
  • Working collaboratively as part of a disciplined site team

Essential Experience & Skills

To be considered, candidates must demonstrate a minimum of three years’ hands-on experience in high-voltage transmission line environments, including:

  • Working at height on transmission towers
  • Maintenance of high-voltage overhead lines
  • OHL tensioning and stringing operations
  • Tower assembly or erection using cranes or derricks (e.g. Falcon systems)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Formal electrical or transmission line qualifications
  • Experience operating pullers, tensioners, tractor winches, or specialist erection tools
  • UK driving licence (assistance available for licence conversion where applicable)
