Role Overview
This is a specialist clinical role for a qualified Systemic Family Therapist who wants to make a meaningful difference in the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. You will work at the heart of a multidisciplinary CAMHS team, delivering systemic assessments and therapeutic interventions that strengthen relationships, improve coping, and support recovery.
The role combines autonomous clinical practice with close collaboration. You will help teams think systemically about complex presentations, ensuring that care is compassionate, coordinated and grounded in evidence-based practice.

Your day-to-day work will focus on relational and family-centred care. Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialist systemic assessments and therapy to young people and families
- Developing shared formulations and intervention plans
- Offering systemic consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues
- Supporting safeguarding and risk assessments
- Contributing to reflective practice, supervision and workforce learning
- Participating in service improvement, audit and research activity
- Upholding clinical governance and professional standards
- You will hold a defined caseload while helping teams maintain a holistic understanding of each young person’s needs.

Essential Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate:
- A recognised mental health core qualification (e.g., nursing, social work or allied profession)
- Registration with an appropriate UK professional body
- MSc-level training in Systemic Family Therapy
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Experience & Skills
You should have experience in:
- Delivering systemic family therapy within mental health services
- Supporting staff learning through supervision or teaching
- Working with severe or complex presentations
- Communicating complex clinical information effectively
- Desirable experience includes therapeutic work with highly complex cases.
