Job Description

We are delighted to offer an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse (Band 5) to join our dynamic Outpatients team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (DCHFT).

Our Outpatients services span multiple sites, delivering a wide range of specialist care in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. This role involves working flexibly across five key locations: Sandsfoot, Maumbury, Robert White Centre, South Walks House, and Weymouth Community.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you’ll play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with consultation and procedure clinics, including minor operations and supporting patients during recovery.
  • Providing specialist support in orthopaedic and vascular dressing clinics.
  • Acting as a chaperone and patient advocate to ensure comfort, dignity, and informed decision-making.
  • Building strong relationships through clear communication with patients, families, carers, and colleagues.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior staff and student nurses, contributing to their professional growth and assessment.
  • Demonstrating effective time management and emerging leadership abilities in a busy outpatient setting.

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated nurse who thrives in a collaborative team, prioritizes patient safety and high-quality standards, and is eager to expand their clinical expertise. If you are adaptable, enthusiastic about continuous learning, and committed to excellence in care, we would love to hear from you.

At DCHFT, we foster a welcoming, inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated, and every team member is supported to reach their full potential. Our core values—Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, and Excellence—guide everything we do as we partner to deliver compassionate, high-quality services that promote healthier lives, empowered individuals, and stronger communities.

We encourage applications from all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented groups.
