About the Opportunity
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join the Chemotherapy Treatment Unit at our Liverpool site.
This position is suited to a motivated and experienced nurse who is already trained in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and has relevant clinical experience in chemotherapy services. The successful candidate will take on a senior role within the unit, helping to maintain high standards of patient care while supporting the development of colleagues.
As part of the role, you will undertake additional training across both oncology and haematology systemic anti-cancer treatments, allowing you to develop a broader specialist skill set.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist cancer organisation providing highly advanced, non-surgical cancer treatment to approximately 2.4 million people across Cheshire and Merseyside, as well as surrounding areas including North Wales and the Isle of Man.
The Trust operates from its specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool, its Clatterbridge site in Wirral and its radiotherapy centre at Aintree Hospital. Specialist chemotherapy clinics are also provided across several district hospitals throughout Merseyside.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Chemotherapy Staff Nurse, you will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of specialist cancer treatments.
Your responsibilities will include:
– Providing high-quality, patient-centred nursing care.
– Safely administering systemic anti-cancer treatments within your scope of practice.
– Supporting patients throughout their chemotherapy and cancer treatment journey.
– Taking a leadership role within the clinical team.
– Providing guidance, supervision and support to junior nursing staff.
– Contributing to the education and professional development of colleagues.
– Participating in the assessment and development of learners and junior team members.
– Maintaining high standards of clinical safety and professional practice.
– Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
– Continuing to develop your knowledge of oncology and haematology treatments.
Training and Professional Development
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in a structured dual-training programme covering oncology and haematology SACT.
You should therefore be enthusiastic about expanding your specialist knowledge and be willing to undertake the required education and clinical training.
Because the Trust provides cancer services across multiple locations, the role may also involve cross-site working and cover during training and following completion of the programme.

Applicants should therefore be comfortable with a role that may require travel between different service locations.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a nurse who combines strong clinical knowledge with enthusiasm for specialist cancer care.
Applicants should have:
– Current Band 6-level nursing experience or equivalent relevant experience.
– Appropriate SACT training.
– Relevant experience in chemotherapy or systemic anti-cancer treatment.
– A willingness to undertake further oncology and haematology training.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– The ability to support and develop junior colleagues.
– Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
– A commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.
