The Role: Impact and Responsibilities
​As an ICU Nurse, you will coordinate and deliver evidence-based care for Level 1 to 3 patients. You will be at the heart of the clinical team, managing complex needs and utilizing state-of-the-art technology.
​
Key Clinical Duties:
​
- Advanced Patient Management: Assess, plan, and evaluate individualized care plans from admission to discharge.
- ​Technical Expertise: Operate and monitor specialist equipment, including ventilators, haemofiltration units, and cardiac output monitoring devices.
- ​Clinical Data Analysis: Interpret complex physiological data to facilitate early interventions and optimize patient outcomes.
- ​Emergency Response: Recognize deteriorating patients and take immediate, decisive action in line with Advanced Life Support protocols.
​ - Medication Safety: Titrate complex IV infusions and manage medication administration in strict accordance with NMC standards.
​Leadership & Collaboration:
- ​MDT Integration: Work seamlessly with doctors, therapists, and support staff to provide holistic care.
​ - Advocacy: Support families and carers through difficult or unpredictable situations with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
​ - Unit Oversight: For experienced Band 5 nurses, provide clinical leadership and departmental management in the absence of senior staff.

Person Specification
​
Qualifications & Registration
- ​Essential: Current NMC Level 1 Registration.
​ - Desirable: Critical Care Course, CC3N Steps 1-3, or a recognized Mentorship qualification.
​
Experience & Skills
​
- Clinical Background: Minimum of 6 months experience in an acute or critical care setting (Essential).
​ - Aptitude: Strong literacy, IT proficiency, and the ability to interpret complex clinical data.
​ - Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative “team-first” mindset.
