About Us
The UCL Centre for Computational Cancer represents a pioneering collaboration between the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering and the UCL Cancer Institute. The centre unites internationally recognised experts whose work spans cancer biology, imaging, genomics, systems medicine, and computational analytics.
Our mission is to accelerate discoveries in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment by integrating high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and clinical data science.

We also plan to launch a new MSc in Computational Cancer, designed to equip the next generation of scientists and clinicians with computational and translational skills that drive innovation in cancer research.
 About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding Lecturer (Assistant Professor) to join our growing team of researchers and educators at the forefront of computational cancer science.
The postholder will:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with the Centre’s strategic priorities.
- Contribute to the teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Support the upcoming MSc in Computational Cancer through innovative curriculum design.
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration across UCL’s health and engineering faculties.
- Undertake administrative and academic leadership responsibilities as appropriate to grade.

 About You
Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline such as computational biology, medical physics, bioinformatics, or applied mathematics.
Essential criteria:
- A proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals.
- Demonstrated ability to secure or contribute to external research funding.
- Strong commitment to innovative teaching and student engagement.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across academic disciplines.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- A recognised higher education teaching qualification (e.g. Advance HE Fellowship).
- Experience supervising postgraduate research students.
