About the Role
The School of Computing and Creative Technologies at UWE Bristol is experiencing rapid growth, with approximately 130 academic staff and over 2,500 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Our cutting-edge curriculum spans a variety of computing disciplines, and we also have an expanding research community.
We currently offer an MSc in Data Science, both on-campus and online, and will be launching a BSc in Data Science and a BSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence top-up degree in September 2025. We also have active PhD students researching in this field.
About You
We are seeking candidates for the Lecturer in Data Science role who hold a PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or possess equivalent industry experience. Expertise in one or more areas of data science is essential, including but not limited to:
Data Management
Analytics
Data Mining
Cloud Computing
Data Visualization
Machine Learning
Artificial Intelligence
Natural Language Processing
This position primarily focuses on teaching, and you will be expected to support courses within our programs. However, we also encourage and provide support for your research aspirations.
Location
This role is based at our dynamic Frenchay campus, where we have invested in modern facilities and resources to ensure both staff and students have everything they need to succeed.

This is a permanent, full-time role with a 1.00 FTE contract. We are also open to job share arrangements for applicants wishing to work part-time. While this is a campus-based role, there may be opportunities for remote or home working.
