About the Role

This training post is designed for clinicians who want to build a career in diagnostic ultrasound. You will join a busy, supportive imaging team providing a wide range of ultrasound services, including:

General medical ultrasound
Obstetrics and gynaecology scanning (including early pregnancy assessment)
Specialist services such as MSK, paediatrics (including neonatal hips and head scans), and head & neck imaging in adults

You will also play a role in the development of a new Community Diagnostic Centre at Mansfield Community Hospital, supporting the expansion of accessible diagnostic services in the region.

 Training & Development

This is a structured learning role combining clinical practice with academic study:

Includes a weekly study day during term time
Requires completion of Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound
Pay during training will be under Annex 21 arrangements
Progression to a substantive Band 7 sonographer post is subject to successful qualification

Continuous professional development (CPD) is actively encouraged, with opportunities to expand into specialist areas.

 Essential Requirements

Full UK driving licence (required for site-based work and travel between services)
Relevant clinical experience in healthcare or imaging-related practice
