Job Description

We are seeking an experienced software developer to join the Learning Technologies team. This role will involve designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining web-based applications and interfaces. The successful candidate should have previous experience working as a software developer.

This position is funded by NHS resources and primarily focuses on software development for clinical placements that medical students undertake in the NHS, in collaboration with the University’s Medical School. The role will be based at the Medical School on the Foresterhill campus.

Essential qualifications and experience:

A degree (or equivalent qualification) or relevant experience.

Proven experience as a software developer with expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies to deliver tailored software solutions.

Familiarity with object-oriented principles and experience with popular PHP frameworks, such as Laravel.

Experience working in an Agile environment, ideally within a multi-disciplinary team, and familiarity with project tracking tools such as Jira.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take initiative when needed.

The ability to collaborate with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders across both the Medical School and NHS.

Salary: £37,999 – £45,163 per annum (Grade 6), depending on qualifications and experience.
