As an experienced Nurse from the NHS or private sector, you will join Thornford Park as a Senior Mental Health Nurse (RMN) within the Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. Working 37.5 hours per week on 12.5-hour shifts, you’ll make a real difference in the lives of service users, helping them on their recovery journey.

What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse (RMN), you’ll provide high-quality care to individuals with mental health conditions, while also supporting your colleagues and encouraging a positive team environment.
Your day will be dynamic, with a healthy balance of routine and variety. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering effective, compassionate nursing care to service users
- Leading the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Mentoring and supporting team members
- Observing, recording, and reporting changes in service users’ conditions, and maintaining accurate care records
Skills and knowledge you will have
- A relevant nursing qualification and NMC registration
- 18 months’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- Strong teamwork skills
- High levels of self-motivation and flexibility
- A caring, compassionate, and positive attitude
- A commitment to high-quality care and evidence-based practice
Where you’ll be working
Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET
Thornford Park is a specialist service offering both medium and low secure units, as well as rehabilitation flats. The facility provides a seamless internal care pathway that supports and empowers patients through their recovery and rehabilitation. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized assessment and treatment programs for males with mental illness, complex care needs, and personality disorders. Some service users may have a history of offending or have struggled in previous placements.
