About the Role

University of Sussex Business School is looking for a Senior Education Manager to play a central role in delivering high-quality education services across a diverse and evolving academic portfolio.

This is a leadership position within professional services, where you will oversee a proactive and forward-thinking team. You’ll work closely with senior academic leaders, particularly Associate Deans responsible for Education & Student Experience and Global & Civic Engagement, helping to turn strategic priorities into effective operational delivery.

The role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and innovation, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and enhancing the overall student journey.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

 Strategic & Operational Leadership
Support the delivery of key Business School strategies across education and engagement portfolios
Lead operational planning and implementation across multiple programmes and initiatives
Contribute to income diversification and portfolio development

 Team Management
Manage and develop a team of professional services staff
Create a positive, adaptable, and high-performing working environment
Encourage innovation and continuous improvement across processes

 Data & Decision-Making
Analyse data and reporting needs to support informed decision-making
Translate complex information into clear insights for senior stakeholders
Help shape evidence-based improvements in programme delivery

 Governance & Representation
Represent the Business School at Faculty and University committees
Ensure compliance with higher education regulations and quality standards
Support accreditation processes, including progress toward triple crown accreditation

About You

You are an experienced higher education professional who understands the complexity of managing academic programmes within a dynamic environment.

Key Requirements:
Strong background in academic administration or programme management
Experience working in a Business School or similar HE setting (preferred)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
