At Royal Primary Care Derbyshire, our purpose is simple: improve the health and wellbeing of our patients, their families and the wider community. We bring together experienced clinicians and skilled support teams to deliver accessible, innovative and high-quality primary care across North Derbyshire.
We are currently seeking a General Practitioner to join our Brooklyn Practice in Heanor. While this is a full-time post (37.5 hours), we welcome conversations around part-time working or job share arrangements.
About Our Organisation
Royal Primary Care Derbyshire operates across nine sites, serving four patient lists within North Derbyshire. We are proud to be:

Our structure operates across four collaborative sectors — East, West, South and Brooklyn — functioning as a connected GP-led network with shared systems and operational flexibility. We use TPP SystmOne within a shared administrative model to streamline patient care.
Our multidisciplinary team includes:
- General Practitioners
- Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs)
- Specialist Mental Health Practitioners
- Clinical Pharmacists
- Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) staff
The Role
This position involves undertaking the full range of responsibilities expected of a GP in UK primary care. Depending on experience and salary scale, there may also be opportunities to contribute to leadership, mentoring and service development.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective and patient-centred consultations
- Manage acute, chronic and complex conditions
- Participate in duty doctor and on-call rotas as required
- Contribute to quality improvement and clinical governance
- Supervise, mentor or support junior colleagues where appropriate
- Engage in research, teaching or fellowship interests where applicable

Who We’re Looking For
We ideally seek a GP with 3+ years of post-qualification experience, enabling you to further develop specialist interests or leadership capabilities. However, all suitably qualified applicants will be considered.
You must:
- Be fully registered with the General Medical Council
- Be included on the GP Register
- Hold a licence to practise in the UK
- Demonstrate commitment to high-quality, evidence-based primary care
