Job Summary
We are seeking a Research Fellow to join our team and contribute to a BBSRC-funded project investigating protein-protein interactions in natural product megasynth(et)ases. This role focuses on how enoylreductase enzyme recruitment influences polyketide structural diversity.
You will conduct laboratory-based research under the supervision of Prof. Józef Lewandowski, Prof. Greg Challis, Dr. Lona Alkhalaf, and Dr. Mathew Jenner.
About the Role
- Apply NMR spectroscopy to structural biology research
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team
- Assist in research student supervision
- Prepare monthly presentations, reports, and research papers
- Present findings at national and international conferences
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 36 months. We welcome applications for part-time or flexible working arrangements, where operationally feasible.
About You
✔ PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field with up to 3 years of postdoctoral experience
✔ Strong expertise in NMR spectroscopy applied to structural biology
✔ Excellent communication, planning, and time management skills
✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively
If your PhD is pending, any employment offer will be made at the Research Assistant level (top of level 5 in the university’s grading structure). Upon successful PhD award, you will be promoted to Research Fellow (level 6).
