About the Role
The University of Sussex is seeking a Research Fellow in Digitalisation and Green Healthcare to join an MRC-funded transdisciplinary research hub focused on decarbonising healthcare commissioning and delivery.
This position sits within Sub-Theme 4 – Digital and Remote Care Pathways.
The project is led by Professor Mahmood Bhutta at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, and this role will work under the direction of Professor Dimitra Petrakaki at the University of Sussex Business School.
The successful candidate will contribute to identifying, analysing, and evaluating sustainable innovations in digital healthcare pathways. The research will explore how digitalisation and remote care can support environmental sustainability and efficiency within healthcare systems.
About You
You will have, or be about to complete, a PhD in a relevant field such as digital health, remote healthcare, sustainability, or healthcare management — or equivalent professional research experience.
You should be able to manage your workload independently while working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
Experience in policy engagement, advocacy, or translating research into practical impact will be an advantage, as the project aims to inform and influence real-world healthcare transformation.
