Radiology Nurses provide hands-on care for patients undergoing a variety of image-guided procedures, including advanced Interventional Radiology (IR) — minimally invasive procedures guided by imaging techniques. You will play a vital role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality care in this specialist field.
Key Responsibilities
As a Radiology Senior Nurse, your role will include:
- Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a clinical role model, supervising and guiding nursing staff, supporting professional development and best practices.
- Clinical Expertise: Collaborate with Radiology Consultants, nurses, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care in both diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Operational Oversight: Deputise for the Lead Radiology Nurse and contribute to the development of protocols, guidelines, and departmental procedures.
- Patient Care Coordination: Ensure smooth workflow alongside appointments teams to optimize efficiency and patient experience.
- Professional Development: Maintain clinical competence, participate in continuous professional development, and implement evidence-based practice.
Who We Are Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Nurse (NMC) with valid UK registration
- Substantial post-registration clinical experience
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Theatre, Endoscopy, ITU or Cardiac nursing
- Mentorship, teaching, or assessing experience
- IV mtion administration and cannulation certificates
- BLS/ILS trained
- Experience as a scrub edicanurse
Leadership & People Management:
- Ability to participate in and implement nursing practice development
- 1:1 mentoring and staff supervision experience
