About the Role

GE Aviation pioneered the world’s first civil-certified HUMS in 1991 and developed the highly successful carry-on Rotor Track & Balance system (RADS / AVA). We are seeking a Production Specialist to join our Production team at the Chandlers Ford facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing and maintaining locally produced equipment, including helicopter rotor blade trackers, aircraft cables, and signal condition units for engine debris monitoring. Our operations are guided by the four cornerstones of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Assembly: Perform hand soldering, crimping, and PCB assembly to produce complex electro-mechanical products according to engineering drawings and production specifications.

Quality Assurance: Test and inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and Bill of Materials (BoM).

Goods Inspection: Assist with inspecting incoming components for conformity before assembly.

Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and contribute ideas to enhance production processes.

Team Collaboration: Communicate instructions clearly to team members and seek guidance when needed.

Efficient Operations: Manage time effectively to maximise productivity and maintain smooth daily operations.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum two years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly, including soldering, wiring, and crimping.

Proven proficiency in hand soldering of electronic components and wires.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, wire diagrams, BoMs, and engineering drawings.

Solid understanding and recognition of common electronic components, including resistors.

Strong awareness and consistent practice of safe Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures.

Basic computer skills and proficiency with standard office applications (Word, PDF, Outlook, Teams).

Excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills for detailed assembly work.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:

IPC610 (Electronic Assemblies) and/or IPC620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) certification.

Experience applying conformal coating to protect electronics.

PCB fault-finding, rework, and repair experience.

Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

Experience in inspection and quality control in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication skills.
