Job Description
Make therapy accessible where it matters most
This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver specialist physiotherapy to adults with learning disabilities in their everyday environments — homes, education settings, and day services. You’ll support people whose complex needs mean mainstream services aren’t always accessible, helping them improve posture, mobility, respiratory health, and functional independence.
You’ll work within a supportive multidisciplinary team where collaboration with families, carers, and colleagues is central. Newly qualified physiotherapists with relevant experience or transferable skills are encouraged to apply — structured supervision, peer learning, and preceptorship are built in.
Regular travel across the county is required (mileage reimbursed).
What the role involves
- Assess and treat adults with complex postural, respiratory, mobility, and rehabilitation needs
- Create person-centred, evidence-based therapy plans with patients and carers
- Promote reasonable adjustments when patients access mainstream services
- Manage a varied community caseload with senior clinical support
- Communicate using flexible approaches to overcome barriers
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to MDT reviews
- Support assistant practitioners and physiotherapy students
- Take part in service development, audit, and CPD
- You’ll work autonomously day-to-day while benefiting from structured supervision and peer reflection.
