Role Overview
We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead a high-performing Professional Services team at one of the world’s leading architecture schools. Reporting to the School Manager, you will ensure efficient delivery of operational functions across HR, finance, facilities, and space management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic oversight of operational processes, ensuring adherence to UCL and Faculty policies
- Leading a multidisciplinary team across HR, finance, data, facilities, and executive support
- Managing team objectives, performance, and professional development to foster a motivated, inclusive culture
- Supporting financial control, space planning, and facilities management to maintain operational excellence
- Contributing to School and Faculty-wide committees, policy implementation, and new initiatives
This role supports the School’s growth across Bloomsbury and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park sites, ensuring students, staff, and partners receive efficient, responsive, and professional services.

Person Specification
We are seeking a candidate who is:
- An experienced operational leader with a track record in complex, fast-paced environments
- Skilled in line management, with the ability to set priorities, delegate, and deliver results
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, capable of balancing competing demands while maintaining accuracy
- Experienced in financial operations, customer service, and administrative process improvement
- Able to build strong professional relationships, communicate effectively, and influence stakeholders
- Familiarity with HR, facilities management, or higher education operations is an advantage, but team leadership and motivation skills are critical
- Committed to inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative work cultures
