Job Description

Support the Farming Heartland of Moray

At Seafield Vets, part of IVC Evidensia, we are deeply rooted in the rural communities of Moray. Our clients include dedicated pedigree beef and sheep farmers who rely on us during critical moments. As a member of our Farm24 Out of Hours team, you’ll deliver consistent emergency care that safeguards both livestock and livelihoods.

This position is designed for a vet who enjoys the challenge of farm and equine emergencies — especially surgical obstetrics — and values meaningful time off to recharge.

The Role: Focused Emergency Work

During your on-call week, you’ll provide overnight and weekend emergency support across Moray. You’ll work independently while remaining closely connected to our day team and local farming community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending farm and equine emergencies
  • Performing surgical obstetrics and urgent procedures
  • Delivering calm, confident care during high-pressure situations
  • Strengthening relationships with farmers and equine clients
  • Managing cases either from home (if local) or from provided accommodation
  • Spring brings a busy calving and lambing season with varied obstetric cases, while summer allows for a steadier pace and valuable downtime.
  • Keith, our base location, offers excellent access to both the Moray coastline and the Cairngorms.
  • Work Pattern Designed Around Real Balance
  • We believe exceptional veterinary care should not come at the cost of wellbeing.

Primary rota:

  • 1 week on call, 3 weeks off
  • Monday–Thursday: 6pm–8am
  • Friday 6pm through to Monday 8am
  • Alternative option: 1 week on / 1 week off (salary adjusted)
  • This structure gives you three full weeks each month to explore, travel, pursue CPD, or simply rest.

  • £7,500 relocation allowance
