About the Role

Animal Trust is expanding its Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team at our brand-new 24/7 hospital in Stockton-on-Tees. We are seeking a dedicated Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian to join our collaborative team, working alongside qualified veterinary nurses to provide high-quality medical and surgical care to pets in need.

You will manage a diverse ECC caseload, oversee inpatient care, and collaborate with our network of 24-hour hospitals, ensuring expert support is always available. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical expertise while contributing to a socially-driven mission of accessible veterinary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and critical care services, including medical and surgical interventions.
  • Oversee inpatient treatment and monitor recovery.
  • Work collaboratively with the day team and other 24-hour hospitals for consultation and support.
  • Participate in training and mentorship to support team growth.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to RCVS regulations.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.

Person Specification

  • Strong interest and experience in Emergency & Critical Care (ECC).
  • Passion for providing affordable veterinary care in alignment with our mission.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, varied caseload environment.
  • Empathetic approach to both pets and owners.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a 24/7 veterinary hospital or OOH service.
  • Interest in professional development and CPD engagement.

Rota & Working Pattern

  • Standard rota: 7:14 (7 days on, 14 days off)
  • Flexible working patterns may be considered for suitable candidates.
