About the Role

Skills Provision is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected automotive employer based in Essex. We are seeking a highly experienced Master Technician who takes pride in technical excellence, diagnostic accuracy, and leadership within a workshop environment.

This position is ideally suited to a fully qualified technician with significant dealership or brand experience who is ready to play a senior, hands-on role within a professional automotive operation. Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is available for suitable international candidates.

Key Responsibilities

As a Master Technician, you will be expected to lead by example and maintain the highest technical standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out advanced diagnostics to accurately identify vehicle faults
  • Inspecting vehicles and systems to ensure safety and reliability
  • Completing all job cards, reports, and documentation with precision
  • Referring to manufacturer manuals and technical bulletins when required
  • Testing mechanical and electronic components to confirm functionality
  • Performing repairs and servicing to an exceptional standard
  • Ensuring workshop cleanliness, organisation, and safe working practices
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety legislation and internal procedures
  • Supporting, mentoring, and guiding junior technicians within the team

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior automotive technician role
  • A recognised Master Technician qualification (e.g. IMI Level 4 or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a major automotive brand or dealership environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of petrol, diesel, and hybrid powertrains
  • A valid UK driving licence or international equivalent
    (Support available for licence conversion if required)
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to command respect
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to developing others
