Role Overview

We are seeking dedicated and energetic Kitchen Porters to join the Margot Green team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment, have excellent teamwork skills, and take pride in supporting smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cleaning of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations: Gov.uk – Food Business Registration
• Support chefs and kitchen staff during high-volume service periods.
• Handle kitchen equipment safely, including heavy tools, pots, and pans.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment following health and safety standards: HSE – Hospitality Guidance
• Follow all instructions given by the kitchen leadership team to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in training programs and contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen practices.

Person Specification

Skills & Attributes

• Previous experience (6 months preferred) in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Ability to lift and manage heavy kitchen equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
• Able to work under pressure for extended hours.
• Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing kitchen demands.

Requirements

• Valid UK visa for employment.
• Knowledge of Food Safety Standards: Food Standards Agency – Level 2 Food Safety Training
• Awareness of health and safety regulations in commercial kitchens: HSE – Workplace Health & Safety
