Job type: NDT Technician.
Role summary
The NDT Technician will be in charge of evaluating the quality of Composite Propeller Blades and Bearing Assembly, Hub LRU complete break down, and various OE and R&O components made at Dowty Propellers utilising ultrasonic, penetrant, and eddy current methods.
Essential responsibilities
- A variety of ultrasonic and radiographic test procedures are used to inspect composite propeller blades during production.
- Complete checks utilising hand-held ultrasonic probes and mechanised inspection equipment in a production environment.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with relevant specifications/standards, and analyse outcomes.
- Document all results and findings.
- Raise any suspicious faults, issues, or uncertainties with the NDT cell leader immediately.
- Collaborate closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and NDT Level III personnel to review problems and findings.
- Maintain compliance with all company and statutory processes, specifications, and standards, including prescribed recording and reporting methods.
- Collaborate with other NDT team members to share workload based on production throughput and priorities.
Qualifications/requirements:
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Good mathematics skills.
- Prior experience with ultrasonic inspection of composites
