Creating the strategy for our success. That is one positive thing.

At Capital One, we’re on a mission to improve credit, one good thing at a time. You might consider us a credit card firm. But the truth is that we’re just as much a technology company. And we want to make a difference for our customers, coworkers, and the community.

One of the positive outcomes of making borrowing easier for our customers is that Capital One is a great place to start your career. When you join us, you can expect to be given early responsibility as you work in collaborative teams on significant projects. We have an excellent track record of hiring graduates and helping them attain their full potential. Just look at our CEO, Lucy Hagues. She began as a graduate and now runs the UK business. And this is just one of many success stories.

We are committed to building teams that reflect our clients and the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone, but we especially want to hear from women, LGBTQ+ applicants, and ethnic minorities.

Strategy Analysts at Capital One

Our Strategy teams are critical to how we push the business forward and, more importantly, how we interact with our customers. We accomplish this by solving challenges through insightful data analysis and critical thinking skills.

Rotations are an important component of the role because we have multiple teams inside Strategy that are in charge of exciting aspects of the business. This, in turn, helps you to broaden your abilities and expertise across a variety of projects and business domains, assisting you in becoming a well-rounded strategy analyst. Along with this, you will receive excellent training and support from the people around you, ensuring that you have all of the skills necessary to thrive in the role!

The rotations will take place within our core Strategy teams, and the work could include developing the right products to meet our customers’ needs, finding innovative ways to attract new customers, providing support and tools to help our customers manage their finances, or protecting them from fraud. Along with this, you will be instructed and developed in some coding and analytical tools, allowing you to delve deeply into the datasets.

Being a Capital One graduate requires more than just technical skills. Personal growth opportunities are also plentiful. Whether you view yourself as a future leader, a subject matter expert, or somewhere in the between, you’ll have a manager, mentor, and buddy to help you build out the career path that’s right for you.

What You’ll Need

We don’t care what degree you have, but we want to see your ability to uncover solutions or possibilities through data and strong reasoning.

You will have a good aptitude for mathematics and the ability to solve problems and think creatively in order to make appropriate recommendations.

You aren’t hesitant to offer your thoughts and are always proactive and self-starting.

You’ll have great written and verbal communication skills, and you’ll thrive in a collaborative setting that requires you to work well with others while also focussing on your own and our growth and development.

The Recruitment Process

To ensure a flexible and accessible approach, each stage will be handled digitally. You’ll also have a dedicated recruiter who will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.

Step 1: If you satisfy the eligibility criteria, you will be provided online testing to complete. This includes situational and strengths assessments, as well as numerical and verbal thinking tests.

Step 2: You will be prompted to complete a one-way video interview.

Step 3: Meet remotely with one of our Strategy Analysts for a case study interview.

Step 4: Attend the assessment day, which includes group activities, case studies, and individual interviews. If successful, we will offer you a spot on the program!
