JOB SUMMARY
The University of Reading is looking for a Property Director to oversee the strategic and operational management of its broad property portfolio.
In addition to its extensive and diverse operational portfolio, the University has a considerable property investment portfolio that attempts to establish and promote long-term growth and income opportunities to support the University’s future advancement. The operational portfolio includes over 200 buildings and over 250,000m2 of space, with academic, research, enterprise, sport, recreation, and residential structures and amenities. The investment portfolio includes a wide range of land and property types, including commercial, residential, innovation & business, research & development, industrial, retail, and rural spaces. We have more than 500 tenants, ranging from multinational enterprises to individual partners.
The Property Director reports to the Director of Estates and is in charge of strategic and operational asset management throughout the University’s property portfolio. The Property Director will oversee a team responsible for a wide range of activities such as L&T, lettings, acquisitions, disposals, and asset and property management.
We are looking for someone with senior-level expertise and a solid track record as the lead property specialist across a broad estate portfolio. You will have demonstrated a broad range of experience in the property business, including transactions, asset management, and property management, as well as the leadership skills required to manage, grow, and drive an internal property team. The role requires a someone with strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as an entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and dynamic attitude.
