JOB SUMMARY

 

The University of Reading’s world-class research in Agriculture, Food, and Health is addressing global issues such as climate change, resource depletion, hunger, poverty, food, and disease prevention. Our experts collaborate with partners both internationally and locally to influence policy and practice, ensuring evidence-based decision making.

Working mostly on the Agriculture, Food, and Health subject, you will help to prepare high-quality research funding applications and generate research money at the University of Reading.
The Assistant Research Development Manager will work alongside another assistant and a team of three Research Development Managers to support the Agriculture, Food, and Health theme. These teams collaborate with the Research Development team supporting the Environment topic to form the larger science topic research development team, which is overseen by a Senior Research Development Manager.

You’ll have:

– Capable of communicating professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide spectrum of stakeholders.

– Capable of managing and prioritising one’s own work flow while working on multiple projects at once.

– Capable of working successfully under pressure and within tight timelines

– Understanding of research funding sources and mechanisms in the UK and abroad.

The role holder will join a larger team of Assistant and Research Development Managers supporting the Agriculture, Food, and Health theme, as well as those from other themes, to develop and submit high-quality research grant applications on the University’s beautiful green Whiteknights campus, which has received 14 consecutive Green Flag awards.
