Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Integrated Adult Social Care is now recruiting for a Team Manager with experience working in adult social care (18-65 years old) for Devon County Council’s Disability Focus Team.

As a team manager at Devon County Council, you will get regular supervision and an open door policy from Community Service managers.

The team holds formal team meetings on a regular basis, as well as informal wellbeing huddles/catchups and group supervision opportunities.

The selected candidate will head a team that assists vulnerable adults from a variety of backgrounds and needs, primarily those with a learning disability.

The work will include overseeing Community Deprivation of Liberty Assessments, Care Act Assessments, reviews, commissioning care, safeguarding work, CHC work, conducting Mental Capacity Act assessments, and making Best Interest judgements. This effort is required to support teams with increased workloads, minimise wait times, and respond quickly to mitigate risks.

We are looking for a full-time experienced team manager who can support the team in the Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, and Tavistock areas. We take a flexible approach to work and place a high value on wellbeing.

Devon County Council is now implementing a hybrid approach in which employees can work from home but must come into the office on agreed-upon weekdays, with a minimum of two days necessary.

Knowledge of the Care First 6 system is advantageous but not required.

What We Can Offer You

  • We prioritise your professional development and strive to help you maximise your career potential. You will be provided with good support and supervision, as well as regular opportunity to discuss and reflect on your practice with both your line manager and peers.
  • We provide 26 days of annual leave, including bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5 years of service.
  • Flexible working options are available, including part-time, flexitime, compressed working hours, and homeworking (according to role requirements; please discuss further during the interview).
  • Opportunity to join a lucrative Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Devon is an excellent destination to live and work, with high-performing schools, colleges, bustling cities, picturesque villages, and some of the most magnificent coastline and countryside in the United Kingdom. Living and working in Devon as a Team Manager has never been more desirable.
  • Relocation support of up to £10,000 may be available for those moving to Devon, subject to qualifying requirements.
  • Relocation support packages may include visa sponsorship, subject to criteria and circumstances.
