Lancashire County Council is looking for a Building Services Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join their Building Design Team as part of the Asset Management Service.

Our Building Design Team consists of architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, structural engineers, and building services engineers.We help to deliver a comprehensive capital strategy that invests in the county council’s property, which includes schools, libraries, museums, and offices.

We are looking for…

Experienced Building Services Design Engineer (Mechanical) with creativity and ambition.

Collaborative – You’ll be a creative thinker who can work from conception to completion as part of a small, multidisciplinary team on a host of new and refurbishment building projects. Your knowledge and experience will contribute to team’s performance each step of the way, or you can lead independently, designing and project managing projects for new and replacement heating plant, heating systems, hot and cold water, gas, ventilation, and air conditioning.

You’ll be confident and self-assured, with the ability to engage with a wide range of technical specialists and partners, and your aggressive yet diplomatic attitude will ensure that projects are completed on time, under budget, and with safety and professionalism.

You will be a Building Services Design (mechanical) professional with a focus on future technology and expertise in decarbonising building services for a diverse portfolio of properties, demonstrating innovation. Your designs will help decarbonise Lancashire’s infrastructure by replacing outdated heating systems with low- and zero-carbon technology, such as heat pumps, solar thermal, and heat recovery ventilation, while adhering to current guidelines and regulations.

Assist the Mechanical Project Manager with your expertise in technical applications, project budget management, and health and safety. We offer training to enhance current skills and experience to help the business. The position supports hybrid. As a Building Services Design (Mechanical) expert with relevant expertise, you will constructively challenge and influence interdisciplinary teams, external partners, and processes to ensure statutory and strategic needs are satisfied.
