Detailed job description and primary responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the marketing lead for important projects and provide marketing and communications assistance for all PPU campaigns, projects, and business activities with the goal of maximising theatre utilisation, increasing inpatient occupancy, and driving outpatient referrals to consultants.
  • Lead the production of all marketing materials, online publications, patient information leaflets, and advertisements.
  • Assist in creating tailored marketing strategies and activities for PPU consultants across the trust to assist establish and grow their private practice, in accordance with PPU’s objectives.
  • Write and develop a variety of written materials addressed at GPs as part of the unit’s GP marketing strategy, including flyers, newsletters, presentations, and briefing documents.
  • Support the GP and Consultant Liaison in the management and delivery of GP events, particularly GP marketing.
  • Attend GP events as necessary.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in developing customised marketing strategies and activities for new PPU services to increase awareness and create private referrals.
  • Lead the creation of internal communications and publications to ensure that all PPU employees are aware of what is happening around the company.
  • As asked by the PPU Marketing Manager, create reports (regular and ad-hoc) that show the monthly, quarterly, and annual ROI of the team’s marketing actions.
  • Create engaging content for the unit’s social media channels, such as blogs, articles, postings, and multimedia content.
  • Ongoingly create and maintain website material across all PPU websites, as well as manage the unit’s social media networks.
  • Keep up with the newest social media trends and digital technologies.
  • Monitor UK PPC campaigns in collaboration with our external agency and foster a solid working connection with PPU’s digital marketing service provider to ensure a strong digital presence is maintained.
  • Collaborate with advertisers to seek print, editorial, out-of-home, and digital advertising opportunities to enhance awareness of PPU and sustain the reputation of world-class consultants and the Royal Free brand.
  • Incorporate ideas and requirements into annual business plans, and create and budget marketing plans to support important business activities.
  • Raise and receive all marketing and communication-related purchase orders.
  • Manage marketing stock and maintain proper inventory.
  • Assist the Overseas Business Development teams in their marketing plan to enhance embassy referrals and raise the international profile of the unit and its consultants.
  • Maintain a professional image for the service at all times while providing a comprehensive, world-class service to patients, relatives/caregivers, clinicians, and external agencies.

  • Strong working knowledge and professional expertise in the use of Outlook package – PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word, as well as email, Internet Website Software – WordPress.
