JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an exceptional, highly driven, and skilled individual to give direct support to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). You will collaborate directly with them to lead, organise, and enable the effective delivery of their portfolio, as well as to ensuring the CMO office runs smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will be able to coordinate and handle different pressures, allowing the CMO to focus on their priorities and make the most use of their time in meeting their objectives.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic role at the core of an NHS foundation trust. The post will allow you to work on fascinating, difficult, and high-profile projects throughout the business. You will need to be driven, proactive, and self-starter. You will be comfortable navigating the political landscape and willing to expand your networks and form new partnerships in order to achieve your goals. The role will provide you with the opportunity to take your existing abilities to the next level while also learning new ones.

You will be responsible for assisting the CMO in fulfilling their numerous obligations across their jurisdiction. Responsibilities may vary on a daily basis, but may include managing the CMO office efficiently and effectively.
• Using a project management strategy to help the team deliver and meet key milestones and objectives within their portfolio.

• Gain an awareness of important organisational objectives; foresee, establish, and assist future programmes and projects required to ensure they are delivered within the scope of the CMO function.

We are one of England’s major hospital trusts, with five hospitals and community clinics servicing a population of about 800,000 people. Our vision is “excellent healthcare from amazing people.” Everything we do is guided by our values: “People feel cared for, safe, respected, and certain that they are making a difference.” We have a new style of working at East Kent Hospitals called ‘We Care’. It is about empowering frontline staff to drive daily changes. We are searching for compassionate people to join us on our mission to enhance the lives of the patients, families, and carers we serve on a daily basis.

Applications for this position should be written by the applicant. If artificial intelligence (AI) programmes are employed, the application may be refused because this paper is an essential component of the assessment process. This does not exclude candidates from requesting appropriate support with their applications if they require it for any declared handicap.

Please keep in mind that if you need a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK, you must state it on your application form, even if you already have one or a work permit for another role and are working in the nation. Please keep in mind that we can only sponsor individuals with a Skilled Worker Visa who apply for employment in Band 5 or higher.
