About the Role
We are recruiting a Library Assistant to join our Library and Culture Services team on a full-time, term-time only contract. This role supports the University’s research and teaching by helping to ensure academic resources are accessible and available on an equitable basis.
You will provide frontline support to staff and students, maintain library resources, and deliver excellent customer service across our library services. The role involves a mix of on-campus and home working, with flexibility to be agreed with your line manager. Occasional work on Bank Holidays and University Closure Days may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Support students and staff in accessing library services and resources.
Maintain and manage academic resources to ensure accuracy, availability, and equity of use.
Deliver high-quality customer service, responding to enquiries and resolving issues.
Collaborate with colleagues across the University to ensure smooth library operations.
Contribute to service improvements and adapt to changes in the information environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
An adaptable team player and quick learner.
Confident with IT and digital tools.
Able to work independently, accurately, and under pressure.
Skilled in communication and customer service.
Familiarity with Higher Education information systems or bibliographic data is an advantage.
