Impact Officer – Heritage and Creativity (AHRC IAA)
Fixed Term Contract – Until March 2026

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Impact Officer to join our newly formed team within the Research, Engagement and Innovation Office (REIO). This fixed-term role focuses on supporting the delivery of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) across the University’s Heritage and Creativity research theme.

You will work closely with the Impact Development Manager (Heritage and Creativity), Knowledge Exchange Fellows, and academic colleagues to drive and support the impact of AHRC-funded projects. You will help accelerate the translation of research into tangible benefits across arts, heritage, and the creative industries, and play a key role in monitoring, reporting, and promoting successful outcomes.

Our Heritage & Creativity theme explores the relevance of the past to contemporary society. We address global issues such as migration, health and (dis)ability, and inclusion through arts and humanities research. We collaborate with communities, industry, and institutions through our world-class museums, collections, and archives—driving innovation, engagement, and creative enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

Support delivery and administration of the AHRC IAA impact portfolio

Collaborate with academics and partners to identify and enhance impact opportunities

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery

Monitor progress, maintain records, and contribute to impact reporting and case studies

Foster partnerships with non-academic organisations to support knowledge exchange

About You:

We’re seeking a candidate with:

A sound understanding of research impact and pathways to achieving it

Strong communication skills across diverse audiences

Project management experience, including financial tracking and documentation

A background in the arts, heritage, creative industries, or higher education

Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with the University’s Heritage and Creativity research portfolio is desirable

You’ll work closely with colleagues across REIO, including Impact Leads, Knowledge Exchange Fellows, and academics, as well as directly with external partners and stakeholders.
