About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Salaried General Practitioner to join our supportive collective of practices within the Tameside Primary Care Network. This permanent position provides the flexibility to work across several well-established GP practices, including:

• The Highlands Surgery
• Medlock Vale
• King Street Medical Centre
• West End Medical Centre

You’ll have the opportunity to practice high-quality primary care in a varied and collaborative environment — without being responsible for practice management duties. You will have a base practice for your main clinical work, with occasional cover at other network sites to support colleagues on leave or during staffing shortages.

 Key Responsibilities

• Provide general practice clinical care and case management.
• Complete patient administration including blood results and hospital correspondence.
• Support clinical cover across the network as required.
• Ensure safe, patient-centred decision making.
• Work within practice systems (EMIS, Docman) and uphold clinical governance standards.
• No weekend shifts or extended evening duties.

 Who We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements:

Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a current licence to practise – see the official GMC registration criteria here: https://www.gmc-uk.org/registration

• Completed or nearing completion of MRCGP training
• On, or eligible for inclusion on, the NHS England GP Performers List – details here: https://www.england.nhs.uk/primary-care/performers/
• Recent UK GP experience with strong clinical and communication skills
• IT competence with systems such as EMIS and Docman
• Right to work in the UK (visa support offered – see Tier 2 information): https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience working across multiple practices or networks
• Special clinical interests (e.g., women’s health, minor surgery, palliative care, training/education)
• Prior involvement in mentoring or teaching
• Experience with clinical document management (Docman)
