About the Role

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Salaried General Practitioner to join HT Practice as part of our established and supportive network of GP surgeries across Tameside.

This role is ideal for GPs who are seeking long-term stability, flexible working patterns, and the chance to build a diverse portfolio career—without the administrative burden of partnership or practice management.

You will be primarily based at The Highlands Surgery, with occasional opportunities to provide clinical cover at neighbouring practices within our network. This allows for professional variety while maintaining continuity of care and a strong base team.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Salaried GP, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality, patient-centred general practice services
  • Conducting face-to-face, telephone, and remote consultations

Managing routine clinical administration, including:

  • Reviewing blood test results
  • Actioning hospital correspondence
  • Completing referrals and follow-up documentation
  • Supporting safe and effective care within a multidisciplinary team
  • Providing occasional cross-cover at other HT Practice sites during planned GP leave or short-term staffing needs
  • All practices use EMIS Web and Docman, ensuring consistency and ease of working across sites.

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

You must be able to demonstrate:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Completion of MRCGP training, or due to complete imminently
  • Inclusion on the NHS England GP Performers List, or eligibility to join
  • Recent experience working in UK General Practice
  • Strong clinical judgement and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Competence using GP clinical systems, including EMIS and Docman

Desirable Criteria

We would welcome applicants with:

  • Experience working across multiple GP practices or PCNs
  • A recognised special clinical interest (e.g. women’s health, minor surgery, teaching)
  • Previous involvement in GP training, supervision, or mentoring
  • Additional qualifications relevant to General Practice
  • Familiarity with document management systems such as Docman
