The Role

We’re looking for a Front-End Engineer who is excited about shaping how enterprise users interact with AI on a daily basis. In this role, you’ll define and build the core user experience for AI-driven workflows, working closely with both users and internal stakeholders to turn complex problems into intuitive, production-ready solutions.

You’ll have a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, operating in a fast-moving environment where ideas are prototyped quickly, shipped confidently, and refined continuously.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Designing and delivering new user-facing features from concept to production
  • Building intuitive interfaces for AI-powered tools and agent-driven workflows
  • Working directly with users to understand real operational pain points
  • Translating loosely defined requirements into clear, usable product designs
  • Collaborating closely with engineers, product leaders, and commercial teams
  • Contributing to and evolving a scalable front-end design system
  • Using modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS
  • Maintaining high standards of accessibility, usability, and performance

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

You’re likely to thrive in this role if you have:

  • 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript / TypeScript, with production experience in React
  • Working knowledge of Python, particularly for interacting with backend services
  • A strong sense of UI/UX design, even if you’re not a trained designer
  • The ability to choose the right tools for speed, scalability, and maintainability
  • Experience taking ownership of features and delivering them independently
  • Clear communication skills when working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfort working in early-stage environments with high ownership and rapid iteration

Desirable (But Not Required)

  • Experience building products that incorporate LLMs or AI-driven workflows
  • Strong visual and interaction design instincts, with attention to detail and polish
  • Exposure to supply chain, procurement, or manufacturing systems
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices

Working Environment

This is a hybrid role, with 3–4 days per week based in our London HQ or at customer sites. We value in-person collaboration while maintaining flexibility where it matters.

Compensation & Benefits

At Magentic, we believe exceptional work should be rewarded meaningfully. Our package includes:

  • Base salary: £100,000 – £110,000
