Role Overview

John Eastwood Hospice is seeking a motivated and flexible individual to join our Facilities Services Team as a Porter / Facilities Assistant. You will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of all patient and non-patient areas across the hospice.

This role also includes assisting with meal service to patients, contributing to their wellbeing and overall patient experience. Previous experience in domestic, cleaning, or catering services is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all areas of the hospice to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, following established work schedules and procedures.
  • Assist with serving food to patients during mealtimes.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the hospice, including occasional weekend or bank holiday cover.
  • Participate in training and personal development opportunities provided in-house to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Support the hospice’s commitment to environmental sustainability by adhering to energy, waste, and recycling procedures.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: All tasks must follow guidelines and legislation for safe work practices
